2credit hour(s)This course will provide firefighter cadets with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to become physically fit in preparation for becoming a firefighter. The class will include classroom curriculum which will be reinforced by practical exercise skills specific to firefighting. There is a focus on the essential components of public safety fitness to include, aerobics, muscular strength & endurance, core strength and stability and flexibility. In addition, students will learn about public safety wellness including basic nutritional needs, hydration and rest.
